This AQHA and APHA dual-registered mare Dual Paint (Dual Pep x Fran Olena x Coral Lena) is an own daughter of the great cutting horse stallion Dual Pep. The strength of her father’s family tree is matched by the dam Fran Olena (Coral Lena x Sis 49 x Smoke 49). Nine of Fran Olena’s 10 foals earned money totaling $272,316. They have primarily performed in cutting ($209,443) and reining ($13,406) but also won money in reined cow horse and received their Superior certificates in AQHA Tie Down Roping, Heading and Heeling.
Dual Paint has produced 9 registered foals including NCHA money earners Uno Paint Doll (by Doc Doll) $6,387, Dual Pepper (by Pepto Doc Quixote) $3,559 and Dual Haida Boon (by JR Colored Haida Boon) $2,572.
Our first foal out of Dual Paint is a yearling and was bought by a NCHA judge! Her 2012 foal is by Boon To Be Wild.
This mare has success written all over her papers. Freckles Leo Girl is an own daughter of Freckles Playboy and her bottom side goes back to War Leo. Though Freckles Leo Girl is an earner of $2,000 and 4 points in the cutting pen, it’s her prowess as a producer that stands out. According to Robin Glenn Pedigrees, her foals have won $38,108 at NCHA approved shows. In addition to that, her progeny have earned AQHA Youth Reining points.
Freckles Leo Girl is the dam of the 2003 mare Playgirls Cat (by A Hocus Pocus Cat) who was the 2007 Idaho CHA Derby Amateur Champion and won both the Non Pro and Amateur Derby Championships at the British Columbia CHA Derby. In 2007 Playgirls Cat was ranked #21 in the $3,000 Novice Non Pro NCHA standings. In the Canadian National NCHA stanginhs she was 2nd in the $3,000 Novice Non Pro and 3rd in the $10,000 Novice Non Pro.
Freckles Leo Girl is a big-framed mare and she passes that on to her offspring. We have had the privilege of being around two of her foals; a 2-year-old filly by Joes Irish Barcelena (by Paddys Irish Whiskey) and a yearling by our stallion Boon To Be Wild. Another Boon To Be Wild colt is expected in spring 2012. Her colts are good movers and are very easy to be around. We are very excited about what she has produced so far but at 24 years of age we know that this one might be her last.
Freckles Leo Girl has now been retired as a broodmare.
Playguns Smoking (Playgun x Cindy Mambo x My Leo Mambo)came to us from the Babcock Ranch and her career in the breeding barn is off to a fantastic start! Via embryo transfer she produced two foals for the 2011 futurity season and both of them are NRHA winners.
Misters Smokin Gun (by Mister Dual Pep) enjoyed success in the Limited Open by placing 3rd at the Carolina Classic Reining Futurity and 2nd at the Cowtown Classic Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas. The 2008 stallion also had top ten finishes in the Intermediate Open at the Cowtown and the Woosley Darling Ranch 888 Futurity.
Playguns Smoking’s other foal Chic With Guns (by Smart Chic Olena), a 2008 mare, finished 16th at the NRHA Futurity in the Limited Open and 14th in the NRHA Futurity $50,000 Limited Open.
Playguns Smoking is a royally bred mare that has winners and producers of champions all over her papers. Her dam, Cindy Mambo not only produced Shiners Shiner, who was the NRHA Futurity Limited Open Reserve Champion and finished top ten in the NRHA Futurity Open at Oklahoma City, but also has AQHA World and Reserve World Champion reiners and team roping headers and heelers to her credit.
Playgun, the sire of Playguns Smoking, has lifetime earnings of $183,451. Playgun was the 1995 High Point Junior Cutting Horse of the Year. He is an Equi-Stat all-time Top 25 NRCHA stallion and is a Top 30 NCHA stallion.
Our 2012 foal out of Playguns Smoking is a filly by Bowmans Smart Jewel (by Smart Little Lena). Bowmans Smart Jewel is a NCHA earner of $57,000. This foal is for sale!
Playguns Smoking is being bred to Boon To Be Wild for a 2013 foal.
Play At Bobbin Acres is from Freckles Playboy’s last foal crop and out of a Bob Acre Doc mare.
This big mare has a great confirmation. She’s short to the ground but also has a lot of power and speed. She is breeding good bone and speed in to her foals. She is being bred to Prime Time Shine for a 2013 baby.
Star Decked Legacy is being bred to Prime Time Shine for a 2013 foal. We decided to breed her as she has perfect conformation and thought she would cross well with our stud. She is new to our broodmare band.
What a phenomenal mover! This mare is one of those horses that makes you catch your breath. When we first saw her, we thought her jog was great but then we saw her lope! Her foals will steal points in either the reining or cutting pens.
JB Doll (by Jab O Lena) is out of the famed Babcock Ranch breeding program and has excellent bloodlines. Her offspring have won $6,602 at NCHA and NRHA events. Her most notable colt to date, Jabanic (by Reminic) finished 8th in the NRHA World Champion Limited Non Pro and earned AQHA performance points in the Open. He also won the Canadian year-end standings in the Limited Non Pro and placed 5th in Intermediate Non Pro.
An interesting side note about JB Doll is that she was once owned by country western singer Lynn Anderson!
JB Doll is bred for a 2012 foal from Boon To Be Wild and will be bred back to Prime Time Shine for a 2013 foal.
This 2003 mare Miss Peppy Martini (Wheeling Peppy x Miss Gin Martini x Tanquery Gin) is bred to be a breeder. By Wheeling Peppy, a sire of NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA money earners and out of a mare by NCHA Futurity finalist Tanquery Gin, Miss Peppy Martini has what it takes to breed on.
This beautiful 5-year-old chestnut mare with a flaxen mane and tail is by our Doc's Oak stud Oakoboji Bert. We kept her as a broodmare for two reasons; her confirmation is perfect and as a Docs Oak / Hollywood Dun It cross, she has great genetics.
This is Oakoboji Kitty’s first year in the broodmare band. She is currently exposed to Prime Time Shine for a 2013 baby. While we know that the colt’s color will be startling, what we’re most excited about is how we think this cross will perform.
This sooty buckskin mare is a super mover. She is by Oakoboji Bert (by Doc’s Oak) and on the female side is a granddaughter of the great stallion Peppys boy 895.
Oakoboji Peppy Girl is in foal to Prime Time Shine (by Shining Spark). Her 2013 foal will be her first and we have high hopes for her produce.
Peponitas Pet is a true blue blood. She is by the great Peponita and has Buddy Dexter, one of just a handful of horses to beat Poco Bueno in the cutting pen on her bottom side.
With a foal due in 2012, this is the last breeding season for this lovely 25-year-old mare. Though we’ve appreciated having her as a broodmare, Peponitas Pet has earned the right to live the rest of her life relaxing on our ranch.
By Peponita Acre, an earner of more than $255,000 in the cutting pen and a sire of get with earnings of more than $810,000, SF Picolena PA has a rich topside. The bottom side of her pedigree displays the best of the King Ranch program.
SF Picolena PA has produced three babies for us. The first was a filly that was bought by professional farrier Mark Crabtree. The filly is by Oakoboji Bert. We than bred her to Boon To Be Wild and sold the resulting colt to a local horse trainer. We presently have the third foal, by Oakoboji Bert, for sale as a yearling.
When we decided to purchase Two Dot Risk, the only appaloosa amongst our broodmares, we knew that there was no risk whatsoever. Registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club, Two Dot Risk was an extremely rare find as she is one of the last, if not the last producing daughter of the appaloosa stallion Rustlers Risk. Rustlers Risk is the only non-quarter horse in history to place in 4th in year-end NCHA standings – a feat that has never been equaled.
Two Dot Risk’s bottom side equals the top. Her dam line shows Rustler Charger (ApHC) and Chucker Vee Sue (AQHA).
